4nim4ted Column – The Homecoming

Sunday, October 19, 2008

So last night I was out at Homecoming dance and dinner and I must say it was ****ing crazy!

What I wore: Black button up dress shirt, Black jeans, White belt (haha thanks Wayne, I bought one the day before), and some white puma shoes. Put on the necklace I got from Troy, sprayed some cologne on and I was good to go.

We ended up rolling to Churrascos [an expensive Mexican restraunt] and eating dinner. It was then I experienced the “controlling your own vibe and others will follow” mentality. I just felt badass as I came in, sporting this big ass white belt when everyone else was wearing black ones. So I came into sets feeling on top of the world. Smiling, talking(Sometimes loudly o_o) laughing, the whole 9 yards. I ended up getting pictures with EVERYONE at the table, which is no small feat considering 35 people [some of whom I don’t really know] showed up.

Pictures will come soon when they get uploaded on Facebook.

Then at around 9:40 we left and hit the dance floor.

THINGS I LEARNED:

OMG, major SWEAT! Since I can’t dance worth sh*t , I decided to …

4nim4ted Column – Putting A Woman On A Pedestal

I went to Italy a couple years back. Stay away from the crazy taxi drivers. Naturally we went sightseeing around Rome and the Vatican. Everywhere we went there were statues and statuettes, people frozen in stone, lifeless for tourists to gawk at. A particular famous statue that comes to mind whenever I think of the Italy trip is the Venus de Milo (Aphrodite of Milos). Aphrodite, the model woman according to the Greeks and the Romans, one look at her could excite a man to insanity… Aphrodite perched loftily on a stone pedestal gazing softly back at you…

Guess what?

That’s not your woman.

Every guy has one time or another put someone on a pedestal. I know I have. At the time, she was the perfect girl for me. She had amazing deep brown eyes, shimmering black hair, a smile to die for… and six feet of stone base separating her from where I stood. I put her up on a pedestal and treated her like my Aphrodite, my goddess. I went and bought her things, hung out around her exclusively, got jealous whenever she would have a fun time with other guys…

I was a creepy weirdo.

4nim4ted Column – Three States Of Vibe

Man, I had a good vibe with that girl last night!”
“I dunno, I don’t think we had a good vibe going…”

What exactly is vibe and how important is it? Before I came to Charisma Arts I had never encountered the word vibe. Though I didn’t know the word, I was “vibing” all the time with people. Loosely defined, it’s the sense of emotional attachment(or detachment) that a person displays to someone, an aura per se. If I have a warm friendly vibe with someone, people will feel more at ease with me. Likewise, if I’m walking around people like I’m Jack the Lecher, I will exude a creepy-guy vibe.

Having a good vibe is important because people base all their opinions on you from their first impressions(ie: first 30 seconds). To discount the importance of vibe in an interaction is to set yourself up for failure. That being said, there is no “right way” to vibe. It is something that comes from your own personal persona, character, and personality. My way of vibing with someone may be different that hobo down on the street corner. The importance is that you’re congruent with who you are as an individual, …
